What is a clean room?

From electronics, cars and food to pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, an increasing number of products have to be manufactured and processed in sterile environments. In many of these sectors, clean-room production and high levels of component cleanliness are essential to achieve the desired product quality.

The cleanroom is therefore a closed environment, a controlled atmosphere room with filtered mechanical ventilation, characterised by the almost total absence of microparticles of dust and free of contaminating or pathogenic agents. The ultimate aim is to provide a clean, sterile and safe environment for authorised personnel to work in, and to avoid any risk of contamination (by chemical, physical agents and micro-organisms) of the products manufactured within it.

Where

The cleanroom, initially designed for use in biomedical laboratories or hospital technical plates, which require sterile and aseptic environments, later found wide application in the industrial sector. Initially in the microelectronics sector, in the production of microchips, it was then also used in the food and chemical/pharmaceutical sectors where hygiene and cleanliness are essential, or in the electronics, aeronautics and space or military sectors, where greater protection is required (EPA and ATEX areas) and where very pure air is required, with very low presence of suspended micro dust particles.

Analysis of customer needs

As far as the flooring and wall cladding are concerned (whether you opt for an epoxy or polyurethane resin solution or PVC cladding), our technical staff first of all proceeds with a careful assessment of the customer’s needs, the sector of reference, including the intended use and the place where the Clean Room will be built, or the same in the case of renovation.
